Usui Reiki

The word Reiki is a Japanese word that means “Universal Life Force Energy”. It isn’t a replacement for traditional medical treatment; it is used in conjunction with standard medical treatments. It is a form of energy healing that can be used on yourself, others (either in person or over distance), plants, animals, rooms, crystals, and other objects. It helps you to increase the level of “chi” (energy) in your body.  There are three levels of Usui Reiki; level 1 where you learn the history of Reiki and how to heal yourself, level 2 where you learn to heal over distance and you learn the first 3 symbols, and level 3 where you are attuned to the master symbol and a higher frequency of this energy and can also teach and attune others.

There are benefits to both in person and distance courses. In person classes give you direct contact with the instructor and others in the class, and you get to hear other people’s questions and perspectives on things. Distance classes are good because of the flexibility; you can study and practice when you want and at your own pace. Also if there is not a master teacher in your immediate area, it is sometimes more convenient to take distance classes. It is probably a good idea to experience both kinds. Of course if you live in an area where there are no practitioners, then you may have to take all levels through distant courses. Distance attunements are just as powerful as in person attunements, it is the energy involved that matters, just like in distance energy healing sessions. I have experienced both classes and attunements in person and over distance; and have experienced positive things from both. Each person will know what is right for them.
